Ladies and gentlemen, after 14 years of living in Los Angeles, we now have a Chick-Fil-A a reasonable drive (30 minutes) away from our house. It just opened, so yesterday we took the family there for dinner.
The last time we had been to a Chick-Fil-A was three years ago in Florida. You see, whenever we visit family back East, we always have to work in at least one trip to Chick-Fil-A.
As we were walking toward the restaurant, we noticed that the drive-thru line was incredibly long. And inside was packed with people as well. Regardless of the high volume of people, they were very efficient and the lines moved quickly, food was ready faster than most fast food restaurants and the quality of food was oh-so-good. I probably should've taken a picture of my chicken sandwich, but I inhaled it. Not to mention those waffle fries...
Marshall and I were talking about how awesome it would be if they would open a CFA location near our house. Then the manager comes up and greets us and informs us that they ARE OPENING A RESTAURANT IN OUR LOCATION NEXT YEAR, RIGHT NEXT TO OUR MALL. *shaking, about to go all splodey from excitement* In fact, they plan to open 40 locations across California over the next couple of years. Great news, Cali people! Then the nice manager handed each of our kids a little stuffed CFA mascot.
The best part: The kids enjoyed it as much as we did. And until that one by our mall opens up, I think we're going to have to make up some excuses to drive 30 minutes to this one.
Now. If only they could open a Cracker Barrel. Our lives would be complete.
