Eleven and 1/2 years ago we bought our house. The kitchen was original 1950's and in bad shape/fairly unusable. We gutted/remodeled the kitchen when we moved in.
Here it was, right after it was completed the first time.

We were 23 and 24 years old and pretty excited about having a new kitchen. Of course these days I would've chosen different cabinets, but at the time, it was quite an improvement.
Now with new granite countertops, new sink and fresh paint, I feel like it's a brand new kitchen. Was just finished yesterday. I can't wait to cook in it.

Now raise your hand if you thought it would be purple.
ummmm. gorg! and yes i was thinking purple, but glad to see youre holding true in the background room :)
ReplyDeleteGreen was your previous fave color, and your dining room is purple, right? so I figured it had to be one or the other.
ReplyDeleteLooks beaut-ti-ful!
Looks great! Love the new name of your blog too!
ReplyDeleteVery good detective work, Susan!
ReplyDeleteThe BEST feature is that lavender Kitchen-Aid. I LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen looks lovely! If you ever want to redo the cabinets, a little paint works wonders. Almost all of our kitchens have painted cabinets. Plus, when you get tired of them, you can always repaint! Mine are only about 3 years old, and I can totally see myself changing the color in the next year or two. My DH will love to hear that! I know you are gonna enjoy cooking up a storm in that *renewed* kitchen!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss your mixer being lavender?! Mine is lime green, to match my kitchen cabinets!he-he!Have to show you mine one day! Still can't log in correctly, but finally got to post at least! ;0)
