My Hot Date

Yeah it was hot. I mean jalapeno hot. Marshall and I have lately been trying to do a 1:1 outing with each of the kids. Whether it is running an errand or getting frozen yogurt, we've been taking turns with each child.

It was time for Seamus and I to do something. I decided to take him out to lunch. His favorite food is Mexican food, so I figured I'd take him to the restaurant by our house. When I told him where we were going he said, "No, I wanna go to the Mexican restaurant where we drive through the mountains and we eat the cactus (nopalitos)."

Oh... he means the restaurant that is 45 minutes away from our house.... Yeah well, since it was our special time, I decided we'd go to the restaurant he wants to eat at.

Once we were seated at our booth, Seamus started grabbing chips and shoveling salsa into his mouth. We had the most fun talking about all sorts of things. I love the way his little 5 year old mind works. Sometimes when I'd respond to something he said, he would give me an incredulous look and say, laughing, "Mama! You just took the words out of my mouth!"

I took maybe 30-40 pictures of him with my iPhone. He just has the cutest expressions.

And for my favorite picture of all... I had to pull out the big guns take Pocket Edward out of my purse and have them pose together.

I had the most awesome time. I can't wait to have a 1:1 outing with him again.

Now I'm going to sound the like the most insenstive mom/wife ever. But seriously...do you hate staying home when your husband gets the date? I never want my husband to go because I'm always here and I WANT TO GO. am I the only one????
