What's Wrong With Purple?

My dear friend Angie sent this clip to me. You gotta watch the video to understand.

I hope those people DO build a Victorian house right next to their apartment/garage and I hope they paint it to match. I have a little something to say about this...

Dear Neighbors of the big purple apartment/garage,

You are being very, very silly. Stop this nonsense immediately. The fact of the matter is, that this big purple apartment/garage is much more lovely to look at than your boring monochromatic houses.

P.S. I think you're just jealous.

  1. I did not know you owned a garage/apt in Sequim!!! Wow, Julie! And I am with you. I think it is pretty!

  2. What a bunch of whiners!

If someone (or a whole neigborhood of someones) happened to slap a paint brush to the building one day while the owners are in Cali, Meh.

I get so tired of the "What handout do you have for me since I can't get over myself" mentality. I live within a few hours of here, and we are the biggest liberal life sucking state after California. Doesn't surprise me. At all

  3. Pshaw. Those people are whiney babies. At least giving people directions will always be easy.

  4. Oh please! I agree - get over yourselves!! Purple is the best and they should consider themselves lucky to have such cool new neighbors.

  5. Seriously!? This is what they're wasting their time worrying about? So... what? Their houses only have windows on the side that faces that direction? If you want a different view, look out a different window. What lame-o's.

  6. Wouldn't a purple house be monochromatic...one color? I'm just sayin'.

That being said, the neighbors do need to get over themselves. It ain't about them. And what do these people who are complaining about it blocking their view want the owners to do about it? Tear it down? Yeah. A big pile of rubble is much more appealing than a "purple blob," as that one lady calls it.

Of course, they could always move to a different neighborhood if they don't like the house. But that would make too much sense.

  7. You can only imagine the warm welcome the owners are gonna receive when they do move there or visit! I think they should build their very big Victorian home and paint it even brighter purple!!!

  8. I'd live there, I'd tell them to shove it.

  9. Neighbors should live in a HOA community if they want to control other people. Otherwise, they'll have to deal with it just exactly like we have to deal with people who don't cut their grass enough or never move the car that probably doesn't even work off the street. Sure we complain but we are demanding tax breaks and contacting CNN. Get over it!!

P.S. I hope they do build a beautiful purple Victorian home, too!

  10. I think it's beautiful! I would live there in a heartbeat (if my job transferred me to Sequim!).

  11. OOOH! You know what's even cooler than that purple monstrosity? The fact that that purple monstrosity is on the way to Forks!

  12. Seriously? This is a CNN story?

Unfortunately, a gorgeous view is worth only as much as the unbuilt property around it....

But purple? I love it! I think it's great. And that telescope in the neighbor complaining about the character's house? Cracked me up.

  13. HAHA I actually thought you were building your dream retirement home when I saw this clip on our local news. :) They said the owners were from California. :))

  15. Oh my...I live in WA and say that clip on komonews.com and instantly thought of you!!!

I personally think the neighbors should be as bold and paint their houses cool colors as well...life isn't supposed to be lived in various hues of tan!
