Remember my cute baby bunnies I got a while back? I asked you guys to vote on whether or not to name them Alice & Jasper or Bella & Edward. Alice/Jasper won 24-18.
Well... you see, sexing baby bunnies is a tricky thing. You have to flip them over and press on a spot in their nether regions and see what pops up. But when they are babies, they are very very similar anatomically speaking. And I did my best to determine our bunnies' genders.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago. Since the bunnies are full grown now, I decided to flip them over and sex them again. And uh... I made a slight error.
Remember Jasper? Yeah, she's a girl.

Remember Alice? Yeah, he's a boy.

They're also in separate cages now. Except for yesterday morning when I put Alice in Jasper's cage and they made sweet bunny love five times. (in 15 minutes) If that doesn't make some babies, I don't know what will.
So approximately 30 days from now Jasper will give birth to babies. And Alice is the daddy.
hahah! I love it :) Alice can totally be a boy name - like Alice Cooper, right?
ReplyDeleteJasper...umm...well, it's unique, for sure :)
You know I love your sense of humor. Apparently the bunnies have it too!! :)
ReplyDeletethat is so funny! Jasper will make a great mom, especially with that special power he/she has to calm everyone around him/her.
ReplyDeleteAh, another parenting moment where we can reinforce that we are accepting of all types of families, even ones where the daddy is the mom and the mommy is the dad. As long as there is love, right? :)
ReplyDeleteSo so funny!!
ReplyDeleteI am sure Alice already knew this would happen.
ReplyDelete5 times in 15 minutes. Whew!
ReplyDeleteLOL-I am kind of glad I don't have the visual of "bunny love"...but that was funny!
ReplyDeleteYou crazy girl! Do you know how many bunnies she (or he) can deliver?????
ReplyDeleteCullen babies.... Hopefully Rosalie won't show up and monitor every single moment of gestation!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck! :)
Oh, how fun! I had 4-H rabbits growing up. Yeah, they are a little trick to tell, when they're young!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you should change their names to Jasmine and Al.
Thanks for introducing yourself on my blog today. I appreciated your supportive comment!
Blessings--
Jeanne
LOL...this is fabulous!!!
ReplyDeletePoor confused bunnies. Should we start up a fund to send them to therapy for their gender confusion?
ReplyDeleteCall Oprah!
ReplyDeletenow THAT is funny! Thanks for the laugh. We have a bunny--started as a boy but became a girl along the way. Imagine our surprise and my daughter's delight. Deep down, she really wanted a girl. She also wants a dog, but I have told her ONLY if we get to name it Mr. Darcy. She rolls her eyes. I asked if she'd settle for Edward, but so far she's not inerested.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT! :)
ReplyDeletePS - I'm going to start trying to convince Kevin that Alice is a perfect name for our baby girl... I really love it and I think it would be perfect. Did I already say that it is perfect?
Ohhh my gosh, that's so funny! Congratulations, bunny grandma-to-be! ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is so wrong on so many levels. But yet so funny. AND the best part is... I actually know who Bella and Edward and Alice and Jasper (and Emmett and Rosalie) are now! Yay me :)
