Evolution Of A Purple Streak

The purple streak in my hair was getting a pretty big root on it and it was time to redo it. This time I decided to do it BIGGER and BETTER. That's right... a bigger streak. Why? Because I'm crazy. (and because Marshall said I could)

So you wanna know what it takes to get a purple streak?

Well, first she bleached the streak-that-would-be-purple and foiled it up. She stuck me under some sort of torture helmet that blew very hot air on my head for a very long time. Not fun. Thought my contacts were going to melt onto my eyeballs. I tried to smile for the picture, but it came out as more of a grimace due to the PAIN OF THE HEAT BLOWING ON MY FACE. (see how red my face is?)

Then thankfully my awesome hair stylist released me from the torture helmet and unwrapped the foil to reveal my blond hair. Yay! My childhood dream come true!!! I had blond hair! For about five minutes.

Do blonds have more fun? Hmmm... well, those five minutes were pretty fun. Alas... my time as a blond had to come to an end. It was time to add the purple, and wrap the hair up in foil again.

Sexy! I'm thinking of making that my new profile picture, what do you think? Does the foil go well with my complexion?

I'm obviously a novice when it comes to taking pictures of myself in the mirror with my iPhone. It's almost impossible for me to get myself in the picture without having the phone cover my face. I know, more practice!

But when I got in the car with my new fabulous purple hair, I did manage to take a very complicated picture of myself with my iPhone. I turned the phone around to face me, looking at the iPhone screen through the rear view window. Impressed? You should be. Here I am with my FABULOUS new, bigger and better purple hair!

Now I'm the coolest homeschooling-mom-that-lives-in-a-purple-house on the block!

  19. Hey Julie,
The purple looks great I had pink put in my hair last summer and I loved it, but it washed out really quick. I always put a funky streak in my hair for the summer and the kids get an extension color of their choice. :)

  20. Looove it! My daughter did purple hair about a month ago... all the tips and part of her bangs. Her hair is naturally so dark brown that it looks black. They had to bleach the ends as well... for some reason the purple didn't take and it slid off leaving her hair sort of gray. She went back and had them do red instead. The red took much better on her dark hair. You can see it here...

And I hate to break it to you, but I don't think foil complements anyone's skin tone!
