This is our Christmas card for 2008. I'm really liking the individual picture template where we don't have to take a gazillion pictures hoping to get one with all three kids looking the right way and smiling at the same time.
And I promise you we do have a last name. I just took it off to limit stalkers. Or people who'd like to beat me with a shovel.
This will be a busy week for us, filled with baking, presents and birthdays. For this week we will celebrate the birthdays of Marlie, Jesus and Haven. (in that order) That's right... two out of three of our children have their birthdays the week of Christmas. Don't worry, neither of those two children get combined birthday/Christmas gifts. Even our extended family send a separate birthday gift, wrapped in birthday wrapping when they mail us Christmas gifts. In fact, since we now have two Christmas trees, we have decided that the purple tree will also be known as the "birthday" tree. All of Marlie and Haven's birthday presents go under the purple tree to make present distribution a little easier.
So this week it will be a little crazy, and a lot of fun... but mostly, we're going to enjoy each other as a family and be thankful for our many blessings.
Lovin' it. And if I had a tree, it would SO be purple. For Elizabeth- and maybe pink, too, for Abigail.
ReplyDeletethat is super fun... we have lots of birthdays around christmas too... but all extended family.... miss chatting with you... hubby is now sick, so I will be back soon.
ReplyDeletegreat pictures!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest was born on Christmas Day. She thinks it's great to share a birthday with Jesus. And as long as no one tells her otherwise.... I'm good. LOL
That turned out great! Did Marshall do that?
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty Christmas card! I broke down and got some as well - and did individual shots of each of the crew.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun week! Hubby only has to work today and tomorrow - and tomorrow his days ends at 7 AM - and then he'll be off until next Monday! We're so excited!
I'm going to re-read The Tale of Desperaux outloud to the crew this week and then we're going to see the movie on Friday - which is a HUGE treat for my crew. They never get to go to the theatre!
Busy week indeed! And the most spectacular people on the planet have birthdays this week! ;)
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas! We were talking about you yesterday- in a good way. We drove by a house that had a hot pink Christmas tree in the front window and one of the kids said- hey mom, it's like your friend with the purple tree! :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week celebrating!
Great card! And what a good idea with the birthdays .. My birthday is in January, and I still ended up getting Christmas clearance socks. From a grandma, not my parents. =-)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great card!!
ReplyDeleteWow that's crazy that 2 of the kids have their birthday in the week of Christmas! I love the idea of a birthday tree, how cute is that?!
Maybe when mine rolls around I can have a birthday pumpkin, it is in October after all :)
We also have a lot of birthdays in our extended family during Christmas week. It is indeed chaotic, but fun to celebrate so many good things in short order.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh... Happy birthday to all 3! ;)
ReplyDeleteSo this week really is a celebration beyond celebrations.
What a beautiful card... ;) (even prettier in person!)

Well I will miss you, but I hope you have a spectacular birthday fest over there!!!
ReplyDeleteyou have a negative comment... going to read now and then volunteering to be your hit man.
Your last name is supposed to go in that blank? I thought you were calling yourself a bad word and you were keeping us from it!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for keeping birthdays and Christmas separate. My birthday was last week, and I always got my presents from extended family on the same day (and always in Christmas paper). You get used to it.
Merry Christmas!
Oh I love the idea of the birthday tree. That's so fun! I'm right at Thanksgiving, and I have a *big* thing about Christmas not encroaching on my birthday. I can't imagine how your guys would feel! ;)
ReplyDeleteMy husband's birthday is the day after christmas, boxing day.
ReplyDeleteHe does end up with presents wrapped in xmas paper but I always try and make a big deal of the day so it is somehting a little different from the day before.
Happy Birthday to all and Merry Christmas

ReplyDeleteLove your card. Love that you've included the purple tree on it.
ReplyDeleteWe just celebrated my husband's birthday Sunday. How do you do it with two kids? My 3 are in Feb, Mar, & Apr. So at least it's after the holidays.
