It has been brought to my attention that there is no "comment" option on my previous post about our Ethiopian adoption. I have no idea why... possibly since it was originally published in 2006. If you'd like to leave a comment, feel free to here. And you know, I really like comments.

You have a lovely family. It's wonderful how the five of you have come together. You can feel the love seeping throught your posts.
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, LOVE this post, especially because I am just getting to know you and I didn't know that story. Thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteCould she be any more beautiful? and I love the video I cried throughout most of it... what a blessing!
yes i loved this post too! how incredibly special to be able to read your story of meeting her..she was absolutely precious..looked completely at home in your arms from the first sleepy moment! :)
ReplyDeleteok, even if the one pair of underwear WAS purple, it would still be awfully hard to make it thru....
oh and i can't comment on the twilight posts because-gasp! i haven't READ it ;yet...still waiting for it to come to my small town library..i'll be reading it in oh, a year...
I was wondering what was up yesterday when I went to comment! I really, really enjoyed reading your story. Btw, was the purple underwear the one pair that you had with you?
ReplyDeleteHave you blogged about how you chose to adopt from Ethopia? I would love to hear that story.
I wondered about that, too...
ReplyDeleteI loved reading the post yesterday... and the photos and video are great! You looked so beautiful holding your baby girl in your arms :)
Maybe your blog remembered that back in 2006 you didn't accept comments. LOL
ReplyDeleteLove that story! She is such a beautiful baby.
ReplyDeleteWow you endured that trip great. I don't know if I could have without al my stuff. But like you said, I might realize I could live a few days without it.
I'll have to come back when I'm uhh, more awake to read Marlie's adoption story. Sounds interesting!
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a great Thanksgiving!
I loved that post .. and the video! The part where you're cuddling her, and the tear just silently rolls down your cheek. I think I felt one fall down mine too.
ReplyDeleteI've loved all your adoption posts .. thank you for sharing!
I was wondering about that. So, being unable to be patient in any way, I just twittered you instead.
ReplyDeleteBut I do want to say for the record that I LOVE your adoption story and your family rocks.
What a great reminder of our own second trip to Addis nearly 2 years ago! I'll have to feminisce on my own blog. :) Funny how Ethiiopia gets right into your soul, isn't it? Congratulations on your beautiful girl, and the adorable marine-cut she sported back then.

Oh that's so funny! I thought you did it on purpose so that it would just be your special story without any outsiders intruding on it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful story. And if I were adopting, I think you would have convinced me that Ethiopia was the place to adopt from! What a lucky family you all are.
She is a beautiful girl! What a SMILE she's got! :-D
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you only had one pair of underwear! Ack.
Worth it though!
Oh, Julie. Again, I am in tears. That video was just incredible. My 12yo son came in while I was watching it, and he said, "That baby is so beautiful." :) I agree.
ReplyDeleteHello my late night bloggy friend!
ReplyDeleteI love the post below. Your story is beautiful and I have really enjoyed getting caught up on it!
What a great post and how beautiful is Marlie. It must have been horrible to lose your luggage after travelling so far. Somehow, I bet it was all worth it. I may take up the Ethiopian calendar too...
ReplyDeleteWow, that was such an adventure in every way-- and the happy ending is the best. She has such an awesome smile-- I love the pictures of the two of you best:)
ReplyDeleteOkay Julie you are turning into one big cry baby. Between this video and the one with your son and his birth mother I am a basket case everytime I visit your blog:) What an amazing family you have. God is so good!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I've ever told you this, but I've always loved the fact that the underwear is purple. I don't know if it really was, but I'm perfectly happy thinking it must have been. I love you, my funny friend!!
