Wacky Wednesday #20

Introducing: My purple hair! I'd like to thank each and every one of you who weighed in on whether or not I should color a streak of my hair purple. An extension would've been less risky (and less permanent), but probably would've bugged me every time I ran my fingers through my hair. This is pretty dramatic for me. I mean, well, yes I live in a purple house and everything, but it's not like I was taking the purple with me everywhere I go. Now I am.

My hairstylist had to bleach that strip of hair blond first. I've never had blond hair before, so it was pretty exciting for 10 minutes. Then she added the purple. And after she washed my hair, she blew it dry straight. I don't personally own a hairdryer, so the only time you'll see my hair straight is when I've just gotten it cut.

So what do you all think of my new purple streak? That's ok, you can be honest. If you don't like it, I'll just delete your comment I won't take it personally.

What does the family think? Haven's hoping if he ignores it, it will go away. Marshall, Seamus and Marlie love it.

I love it too.

  2. No need to delete me ... I think your purple streak is fun and fabulous! And the straight hair is awesome, too. I tell my hairdresser each time I see her (all 3x each year) that I just need her to come to my house twice a week and dry my hair for me. I look fabulous when she's done drying my hair. And then I do it myself ... and, well, I don't look quite quite so good. sigh.

  3. Jules! It seems so you! I considered doing something wild - I wanted to do red or blue or something wild. But I'm too lazy to go to a place. I haven't been in a salon in... I dunno... maybe since my BFF got married and we went for up dos. 7 years ago???

    Anyway - Love the purple!

  5. I really like it. I have done pink streaks all over the top of my hair before and loved it and one time I did "malna" which is rasberry. But it only lasts a couple of weeks. I cannot get them to understand I want it for longer... it is fun, maybe I will do it again. I am trying to decide if I want to go brown this winter or not.... or at least brown highlights...with "malna" hmmmm

  7. It's fun! Wonder why Haven doesn't like it?

It's a little hard to see the complete effect... could you get your pic taken in the sunshine?

  8. Oh, I love it! When I was in high school I had an electric blue streak through my hair. But me and my mommy self are rather boring these days.

And I know what you mean about the straight hair. I have very long, very curly hair. That I really don't know what to do with since it's only been curly since I had babies. And with our humidity, it's really not curly but frizzy. So, the two times a year I get a chunck cut off the length, I have straight, pretty hair.

  9. The stripe is so fun ... way to continue in your uniqueness. As to the straight hair, yes, it does look lovely but as a curly girl myself, I prefer your natural waves!

What a cool idea! And points to you for having the guts to do so!

Purple is my fave, too. But, I don't think hubby would take so kindly to me dying it purple. So, points for Marshall, too, for loving it!

  19. Well, thank goodness the pta doesn't need to know about it--what with the homeschooling and all. Don't expect the Junior League to come calling anytime soon though!

    So very cool!

  20. Kudos to your purple hair. Love purple! I hope all will be solved on your ID theft. Ugh, you'd think that if they have the time and know how to do this stuff that they'd get themselves a real job and not your money.
I can't wait for the movie! I'm glad to hear it's going to be good. If a guy can say he likes it then you know it's a good thing.
    Thanks for visiting on Monday.
Enjoy the rest of your week!
