Wacky Wednesday #17

This is what I've been looking like for the past few days since I started reading the "Twilight" series. I had heard the hype, and when I heard Marshall was going to start working on the movie later this month, I ordered the books.

The very first night... I started reading at midnight... thought I'd just read a chapter in bed before going to sleep. 300 pages and 4 hours later, I finally pried my hands off the book to go to sleep. Though I've snuck a chapter here and there during the day, I've been exercising extreme restraint to keep my reading marathons until bedtime. 4am seems to be the time I make myself stop so I can get some sleep.

Now I'm on book three. Sorry. Restraint is gone. Must. Keep. Reading. So the kids will be eating PB&J's and have movie marathons today, and probably tomorrow, until I finish book 3 and 4. Not since Harry Potter have I ever been this addicted to a book series.

And yes, I'm the biggest hypocrite in the world for all the times I've said I don't have time to be in a book club. Thankfully these extreme reading episodes are few and far between. I'll go back to being a mom in a few days.

Now if only I could convince Haven to change Marlie's diapers...

  1. I love it! We went away this past weekend to a local resort to swim and I spent almost the whole time in a lounge chair by the pool with my nose in the 1st book. The kids were upset that I didn't swim with them more...but I couldn't help it!

  5. Julie,

That is so funny! I remember being into a book so much that I had to finish reading it on the bathroom floor when we were on vacation! So, basically I need to stay away from this book! LOL

  6. Hi Lisa, thanks for stopping by my blog, that is cool that you were with CCC in college!

Okay I have heard the hype about these books and now I want to read them. My mother in law is coming in a week and I asked her to get it for me... I guess I should have asked her to get me them all. UGH.

    Love the picture!!!

  7. First of all, thanks for stopping by my blog! ;) Second. OMG! After hearing review after review by my fellow mommy bloggers, and then my sister..... I caved. I ordered all 4 books at once and just started into the first one. I am dying here. I can't find any time to read! I need to finish! I'm tired b'c all of my reading has been at night. And I'm only half way through it, I just got it 2 days ago. But to be fair, I haven't read anything since before my 3 yr old was born. But I miss reading, and what a good choice in books. Huh?? Loving it!!!

  8. Oooooooooooooooh, but we must talk about this delicious goodness known as Twilight. And Spike.

Oh, but we are kindreds. Yes we are. Send me your e-mail...way too much to write in a comment box! If you don't mind, that is.

  10. I finished it in two days. I didn't think I could do it but I did. And I think I'll go read it again now. While I wait for the second book from the library.
I too held a movie marathon for my kids. So bad.

  12. Oh Julie, I knew I did the right thing clicking on your comment over on Daja's blog. I read all four Twilight books...in about a week. I'm a sick puppy. I will not let my 14yo read them yet, and that's why I read them...to screen them. I'm totally hooked. Not sure if I'll see the movies...they are never as good as my imagination (sorry, Marshall!!!).

I'm bookmarking your blog. You are FUN!! :-)

FYI, I live in LA (County), as well.
