Our New Neighbors

Ladies and Gentlemen... We have new neighbors. Marshall's parents, A.K.A. "GG" and "Paw Paw", have bought a house on our street. They're not moving out of their comfy home in Louisiana though. Nope. This is their new vacation home. Which means they can come visit more often, and stay for longer than 3 days at a time.

Isn't it such a cute house? It's beautiful inside and out. The backyard is an entertainer's dream, with fruit trees, in-ground jacuzzi with waterfall, and an outdoor kitchen. And guess what? They're gonna let us use the house to entertain when they're not here. Neither one of us threw wild and crazy parties when the parents were out of town when we were growing up. Now's our chance!!! Party at the parents' house! Everyone is invited. BYOB. Of course I'm talking about bring your own Bibles, not beer. Come on, what kind of people do you think we are? We're more like red wine people anyway.

For the almost 12 years of marriage, living in Los Angeles, and the 8 and 1/2 years of parenthood, we've never had family nearby. The notion that we will have family visiting us frequently and for longer periods of time is very exciting to us.

You know why, don't you?

I can drop off the kids and go to doctor appointments, grocery stores, shopping... the possibilities are endless! And Marshall and I can go out on dates. Imagine that! They may even take the kids overnight sometimes. That's almost too good to be true.

Oh yeah, and we'll even visit with them ourselves. As long as my father-in-law isn't wearing those silly coveralls he's so fond of.

  1. Woo Hoo! When is the 'back to school keg-ger' at Paw Paw's house?!

  2. j.e.a.l.o.u.s.

Have fun with the party planning!

  3. relatives close by & with a killer house? what's not to love?

  4. You are ridiculously lucky! What I wouldn't give for a built in babysitter....8^(

  5. You must never, ever breathe a word of this to my parents. Oh the horror. But the free babysitting.... Maybe with a heavy drinking habit I could make it work.

Very cute house. I think it could use a little lavender though.
