The Waiting Game

An email to my social worker re: any updates in the wait times was returned with an automated “out of office” reply. I have to wait to even find out the update re: my wait!
This wait is driving me Cuckoo!

Ok, so I finally (after one whole day of waiting) got an email back from my Social Worker. Here is part of what she said in her email.

“Regarding wait times: families are waiting the full 5 months and going a bit beyond that. I expect the time frame to quickly hit 6 months. There is a very real possibility that there will be a referral for your family this month but it is impossible for me to guarantee that.
Please keep checking in with us (but be assured that we will contact you
as soon as we have good news). It will happen....”

Ok, so now it’s my turn to obsess.... She could have said “There’s a possibility that there will be a referral for your family this month” or “There’s a REAL possibility that there will be a referral for your family this month” but she did say, “There’s a VERY REAL possibility that there will be a referral for your family this month”. Ok, so now I’m going to obsess over the use of “very” and “real” and why she used those words in front of “possibility”. (when in reality she probably didn’t take more than 10 sec. to write the email with no real thought behind it.) Oh well, I’ve got to do something to keep myself busy with the wait. Might as well find things to obsess about!

On a side note, today I watched a show (on the Food Network) all about donuts while I did my morning run on the treadmill. Gotta be some irony in that. They sure looked good!
